Richmond, VA Meets Cincinnati, Ohio in Chicago, IL

It all started when two people from very different places ended up in the same city, at exactly the right place and time.

Missy’s journey took her from Richmond, VA, where she grew up and attended Collegiate School, to Elon University, and eventually to Chicago to pursue a master’s in Counseling at Northwestern University. Matt, on the other hand, hails from Cincinnati, where he went to St. Xavier High School before heading to THE Ohio State University (Go Buckeyes!). After graduating, he moved to Chicago to begin his career in consulting.

Fast forward to a party in Chicago, where a mutual friend introduced us on the weekend of—drumroll please—both of our birthdays. It gets better: we discovered we share the same birthday (and the same year!). From that night on, November became a very special month for us.

We quickly hit it off and, despite the frigid Chicago winter of 2020, started dating. One of our favorite early memories is a date in January when outdoor dining was the norm, and we found ourselves bundled up under a heater on a patio, talking for hours. Somehow, despite the freezing temperatures, our conversation kept us warm!

Since then, we’ve spent the last few years exploring new cities, enjoying Chicago summers, and indulging in our shared love of music, tennis, travel, the beach, our faith, sports, good food, craft cocktails, and most of all, the people who have supported us along the way. We're incredibly lucky to have such amazing friends and family who are a huge part of this story, and we’re so excited to share this next chapter with all of you!
